From April 14th to 19th ’24, the International Conference “Ultra High Temperature Ceramics: Materials for Extreme Environment Applications VI” (UHTC ECI Conference 2024) will will be held at Giardini Naxos, Messina, Italy. This gathering aims to bring together the entire spectrum of the community — including manufacturing experts, processing specialists, bench test scientists, designers, engineers, and end-users of these materials — to foster dialogue and exchange insights on emerging technological advancements and performance enhancements in bulk and fiber-reinforced UHTC techniques.

To produce ‘hard-to-sinter’ multifunctional materials, a new infrastructure with Field Assisted Hybrid Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) Technology has been installed at CNR-ISSMC.

The team finally meets in person after the pandemic at CIMTEC Congress in Perugia, June 20-24 2022. A great occasion for scientific discussion, exchange samples, planning new staff exchanges and having some fun!

A student from MS&T, Steve Smith, and a senior researcher from ITS SASA, Suzana Filipovic, are visiting CNR-ISSMC to foster the cooperation amongst the three labs.
